Corrections Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026

Accuracy is the foundation of our journalism. When we make an error, we correct it promptly, transparently, and in a manner that respects our readers' trust.

How to Report an Error

If you believe an article contains an error, please contact us at [email protected] or use our tip submission form. Please include:

  • The URL or title of the article
  • A description of the error
  • Supporting evidence, if available

Our Response Commitment

We investigate all correction requests within 24 hours. If an error is confirmed, we publish a correction as quickly as possible, typically within hours of confirmation.

Types of Corrections

Correction

Issued when an article contains a factual error. The article is updated with the correct information, and a correction notice is appended explaining what was changed and when.

Clarification

Issued when an article is not factually wrong but could be misleading due to ambiguous wording or missing context. The article is updated, and a clarification note is appended.

Update

Issued when significant new information becomes available after publication. The article is updated with the new information, and an update note indicates what was added.

Retraction

Issued in rare cases where an article's central premise or key facts cannot be verified or are found to be fundamentally incorrect. The article is replaced with a retraction notice explaining why it was withdrawn.

AI-Generated Content Errors

Errors in AI-assisted content are handled identically to errors in any other content. We track AI-related errors separately to improve our quality assurance processes and report on them in our annual transparency report.

Corrections Log

All corrections are publicly listed on our Corrections page, in reverse chronological order.
